Your first policy

A fictional sales policy describes when a lead is mailable or blocked. The examples use one document and two data files.

The document

“leads” is the plural of “lead”.

Every lead has an owner.

If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.

These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.

For example, Mira is a lead.

Sentence 3 gives a sufficient condition with two negative premises. Sentence 4 closes the reasons for blocked. Sentence 5 is an example, not a fact that Mira is a lead.

Questions and answers

Ben

Is Ben blocked?
answer: Yes. Ben is blocked, by sentence 4, and crm.csv line 5 and stops.csv line 2.
standing: established
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…

Sentence 4 and the cited rows establish that Ben is blocked on this basis.

Rex

Is Rex mailable?
answer: Yes. Rex is mailable, by sentence 3, and crm.csv lines 7 and 8, and waits on Unsaid.
standing: established
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted; assuming no read of the record is competent for Unsaid("rex", "recent"); assuming no read of the record is competent for Unsaid("rex", "stopped")
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…

The positive answer retains its open conditions. No completeness notice in this example claims that the files list every recent or stopped lead.

Ada

Is Ada mailable?
answer: The document does not say; sentence 3 does not conclude it: Ada is recent, by crm.csv line 4, and keeps it out; sentence 3 states a sufficient condition, and a reason it does not state may hold.
standing: pending
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…

Ada is recent, so she fails sentence 3's condition. That sufficient condition is not a statement that no other reason for mailing exists.

Cy and Mira

Is Cy mailable?
answer: The document does not say; sentence 3 states a sufficient condition, and a reason it does not state may hold.
standing: pending
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…
Is Mira a lead?
answer: The document does not say.
standing: pending
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…

Cy lacks the facts needed for sentence 3. Mira appears only in an example sentence.

The list

Which leads are blocked?
answer: Of the 6 leads, blocked: Ada (by sentence 4, and crm.csv lines 2 and 4) and Ben (by sentence 4, and crm.csv line 5 and stops.csv line 2). The document does not say of Cy, Dana, Eve and Rex. None is known not blocked.
standing: bounded
basis: document sha256:99f835f2…; crm.csv: 13 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 1 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; the program closed and checked: 79 atoms, the kernel accepted
receipt: sha256:7eb7f634…

The displayed list is a host-computed projection of the accepted closure, not a sealed answer trail.

An unread sentence

The changed document adds a sixth sentence:

“leads” is the plural of “lead”.

Every lead has an owner.

If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.

These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.

For example, Mira is a lead.

A lead whose owner is on leave is parked.

Questions and answers

Is Rex parked?
answer: The document does not say; sentence 6 is a gap, which may say it.
standing: pending
basis: document sha256:639ccbc0…; crm.csv: 2 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 0 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:65141b48…: A lead whose owner is on leave is parked.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; sentence 6: A lead whose owner is on leave is parked.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; asked on demand: 2 rows in the questions' cone of 61 patterns, closed and checked: 20 atoms, the kernel accepted; 12 rows shown outside it; needs A lead whose owner is on leave is parked. reaches Count, Has, Isa
receipt: sha256:460931ae…
Is Rex mailable?
answer: Yes. Rex is mailable, by sentence 3, and crm.csv lines 7 and 8, and waits on Unsaid and unread.
standing: pending
basis: document sha256:639ccbc0…; crm.csv: 2 rows, sha256:4452c8f5…; stops.csv: 0 rows, sha256:3b52db60…; sha256:3d244855…: Every lead has an owner.; sha256:5f5295be…: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sha256:65141b48…: A lead whose owner is on leave is parked.; sha256:802f2b5d…: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sha256:b062640e…: For example, Mira is a lead.; sha256:e09a37cd…: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; reader: sha256:dbd3a49d…; crm.csv: true; ; stops.csv: true; ; crm.csv: thing, kind; stops.csv: thing, kind; sentence 1: “leads” is the plural of “lead”.; sentence 2: Every lead has an owner.; sentence 3: If a lead is active and it is not recent and it is not stopped, it is mailable.; sentence 4: These are all the reasons a lead is blocked: it is stopped; it is recent.; sentence 5: For example, Mira is a lead.; sentence 6: A lead whose owner is on leave is parked.; data: 14 rows told from 2 files; asked on demand: 2 rows in the questions' cone of 61 patterns, closed and checked: 20 atoms, the kernel accepted; 12 rows shown outside it; needs A lead whose owner is on leave is parked. reaches Count, Has, Isa; needs no read of the record is competent for Unsaid("rex", "recent"); needs no read of the record is competent for Unsaid("rex", "stopped"); needs unread stopped part way at cut 0
receipt: sha256:460931ae…

In these captures, sentence 6 remains a gap. The parked question is unresolved, and the mailable answer becomes pending because the unread sentence may affect its premises. These outcomes describe the recorded gap's reach.
