A desk contract names the question whose answer is protected, the data it can use and the requirements for a proposed reading. It keeps the scope explicit: what must stay true when a reading changes.
Private examples constrain that protected answer through the contract's laws. Passing those examples establishes agreement within the named comparison, not that the reading is the only possible rule. The holder's examples remain private; the contract does not turn them into public evidence.
