Quantities and dates in sentences

Class-scoped arithmetic

A company's margin is its revenue minus its cost. uses affirmed membership in the formula's kind (MemberOf(subject, class)).

A company's operand rows cannot activate a store's formula. Affirmed membership in both kinds retains both values as a conflict. Without affirmed membership, the value key is bounded and open; asking for it is refused as reader/arithmetic-membership-gap, naming the missing formula kind. Operand rows alone cannot establish that no value exists. Internal membership headers are refused; class rows are the admitted input.

Calendar offsets

Payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. reads a computed calendar attribute. The nominal base invoice date refers to the named date object invoice; A loan's due is 30 days after its invoice. scopes the result to affirmed loan members. Received date objects use DateValue(subject, base, date) (CSV subject, base, date), and a date possession supplies the same input in a scoped definition.

Passive calendar windows

A parcel is refundable only when the damage was reported within 2 days of receipt. reads a past passive and a necessary condition. Ana's damage was reported on 2026-10-03. or the typed EventDate(subject, event, verb, date) input supplies the report event. An occurrence date cannot supply a report date. The spelling table supplies the passive tense and verb forms. The interval is the report date minus the base date, inclusive from zero through N; a report before the base fails. A qualified head such as a deduction for damaged goods retains its whole qualifier as a literal class scope. The sentence alone grants no permission when the condition holds. When the supplied values fail the necessary condition, the answer names that failed comparison; an unresolved negative retains its existing standing.

Attribute bounds

at most and at least compare attributes with inclusive bounds: A loan is safe when its balance is at most its limit. The operands must have the same declared sort. A participle qualifies a received attribute (the quantity received, the ordered unit price), and compound attribute names keep their complete text. at many remains a gap. A verb may introduce the condition directly: A line matches when ....

Percent quantities

An adjacent numeral and percent mark, 2% or 2.5%, is one typed quantity of the percent unit. Ana's rate is 2%. supplies that quantity; a 2% discount is a quantity phrase. %, two% and 2 % remain unknown marks. The phrase does not compute a discount or settle its time base.
